Spring Makeup Trends to Try Now!

Hey everyone!  My last post was on my new favorite spring fashion trends.  I decided to do the makeup trends of the upcoming spring.  I hope you like them!

Natural Makeup

It seems that people can't get enough of this gorgeous makeup look.  The natural look looks great on everyone of all ages so no wonder it's maintained it's popularity throughout the seasons.  Use a tinted moisturizer and some concealer to make your skin look flawless.  Add a touch of blush to the apples of your cheeks and add some highlighter just above your cheekbones, down the bridge of your nose, and on the tip of your chin to make your skin look dewy.  Add mascara and leave your lips a neutral color and your ready to go!  To go the extra mile, add some earth toned eye shadow to the lid.

Bold Eyes

Not for the quiet girl, these eyes say "Look at me!"  Bold eyes are in for the spring.  Though they can be a bit dramatic for everyday if you wear them like the model in the photo, you can tone them down for everyday.  Use a hot pink or lavender shadow and barely dust it over you eyelid.  Use the same color or a darker version in the crease.  Keep it light in the inner corners with a cream or white eyeshadow.  Add some nude gloss to keep it balanced.

Smokey Eyes

It looks as if smokey eye makeup will never be out of season.  Though it may be out shadowed by other makeup trends every other season, it's still there waiting in the background.  Creating a smokey eye is not difficult and with a little bit of practice and effort one can master this eye look in no time.  To create the classic smokey eye, take a charcoal eyeshadow and sweep it all over the eye.  Make sure to blend, blend, blend upwards and out!  Take a lighter grey eye shadow and sweep from the middle of the lid to the crease.  Make sure to keep blending!  To make your eyes look ultra dramatic, take a volumizing and lengthening black mascara and coat the eyelashes with it.

Bold Lips

This is perhaps the number one spring trend for 2011.  Bright, bold, candy-colored lips have been seen all over the Spring/Summer 2011 runways. The hard part is to tell which bold lip color is for you.  If your skin is a warmer shade with golden or yellow undertones, use an orange or tangerine lipstick.  These will definitely enhance your skin tone and brighten up your entire face!  If your skin is super light, use a bright fuchsia.  The blue and purple undertones of the fuchsia lipstick will complement the blue and purple undertones of your skin.   For olive based skin tones, opt for a coral lipstick.  In fact, coral can be worn with about any skin tone.  If your not sure, stick to a bright, classic red.  You can never go wrong with the bright, bold red!

Thanks for reading!  Which trend are you going to try out?  Let me know in the comments below!

XOXO,
Katey
